As a disabled traveler, I found the location of the hotel to be perfect. It was conveniently located just a two-minute walk from tram stations and a ten-minute walk from the metro. This made it easy for me to access public transportation and explore the city. The fact that everything was included in the hotel fee, such as WiFi and minibar, was a great bonus. I also appreciated the helpfulness of the staff, who were always pleasant and willing to assist me. The room itself was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a nice big bed and a fridge. Additionally, the hotel provided a free travel card for use on all trains and buses, which was extremely convenient for getting around the city.
I felt very comfortable during my stay at the City Hotel Essen and have no complaints. The room was perfect in terms of space, comfort, and cleanliness.

We liked the spacious room with a good doublebed, a small couch and an chair. Bathroom and toilet were separate which we liked very much. The free transport by bus, tram and train through a large part of the Ruhr area was provided by the hotel by means of a voucher.
There was no still water in the fridge,

I thoroughly enjoyed the very central location next to the underground tram station at near the city center. A main tram line and the center. - Went to Naked-Disco for drink or two, set at a moderate distance from the hotel. Rewrite: I loved the hotel's central location right next to an underground tram station near the city center. It was convenient being close to a main tram line and the center. A highlight was popping over to Naked-Disco for a drink or two, which was just a short distance away from the hotel.

The staff, all of them, were incredibly kind, helpful and always friendly.Everything, every offer was made to ensure my 3 week stay was comfortable and my every need was met with a smile.I Found breakfast more than adequate, always fresh food and coffee and places set. My room was spacious and bright. Electric fans were available, but I could have my window open at night with little noise. I have stayed many times in Essen in the last 3 years, in some of the 4 star hotels, yet this hotel is on the top of my list.I Hope to return in December with my sister and I have recommended City Hotel Essen to friends.

Good base for exploring Essen. Well-maintained hotel in a nice historic style building. Very good breakfast with beer and soft drinks, as for instance, pleasant staff. Favourable location, the room was air-conditioned and beds were exceptionally comfortable. Approximately 24 minutes' drive from airport.

The room was spacious and clean. the comfortable bed and the fact that the hotel offered free Wi-Fi and a travel card for free transport in the local area were great perks. the sauna was also enjoyable.
The parking area was small and it was difficult to find a spot. the elevator was slow and there were no stairs, making it inconvenient to access the reception area.
